Area: olbia
Olbia is strong on flexibility and services; a Costa Smeralda base gains value when its beaches, marinas and dinners fill almost every day. Add accommodation, transport and travel time before comparing the two quotes.

Area: alghero
Alghero supports a compact old-town and north-west holiday; Olbia shortens many journeys into Gallura. Use the airport, preferred evenings and three must-do outings to decide instead of relying on the relative popularity of the two cities.

The Sardinia I wanted beyond the beaches
I wanted to understand local traditions, festivals and everyday culture, not simply find a beautiful beach. The guides gave the trip a clear thread. Each stop felt connected and the island became much more than a backdrop.
